Man Utd receive early blow ahead of Chelsea clash

It’s been confirmed today that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will serve a three-game ban for elbowing Tyrone Mings at the weekend – meaning he’ll miss Man United’s FA Cup tie with Chelsea next time out.

A tempestuous affair, the game at Old Trafford finished 1-1 between United and Bournemouth as the Cherries ended up with 10 men. Mings and Ibrahimovic however, both stayed on the pitch despite the former appearing to stamp on the latter’s head and the aforementioned elbow incident that followed on from that.

Both will now serve bans in light of the retrospective action, though, with the powerful Swede ruled out for the trip to Stamford Bridge.

He’s been United’s best player by some distance this season, too, and he’s bound to be missed for that one.
