Manchester United received a welcome boost yesterday as – as reported by The Guardian – Marcos Rojo was cleared of all wrongdoing in the game between the Old Trafford club and Chelsea.
The FA Cup tie on Monday between the sides was certainly a tempestuous affair as the two battled for the right to get to the semis at Wembley.
It was Chelsea who won out, though, through a N’Golo Kante goal as United tried their best to intimidate the Blues.
Indeed, it appeared Rojo had stamped on Eden Hazard at one point during the game but Michael Oliver – the referee – revealed that he had seen the incident.
That, then, is why no retrospective action was taken as Oliver decided it was not worthy of any reprimand and so the Argentine defender is free to play this weekend against Middlesbrough.
