It’s that time of year again where we’re caught between last season and next, and Arsenal are being linked with Alexandre Lacazette.
Indeed, not a day seems to go past (probably) where the French forward isn’t rumoured to be joining Arsenal – even when it looked nailed on that he was off to Atletico Madrid – and today is no different.
Certainly, the Gunners – if they actually sign him – will have been helped by Atleti’s transfer ban but they’re still going to have to cough up quite the fee.
Indeed, according to the Evening Standard, it’s going to cost a cool £57 million for the Gunners to prise away their long-term target from Lyon and that would easily break the club’s record for a fee spent on a player.
You get the feeling they need to it this summer, though, because otherwise it could be years out of the Champions League that awaits…
