Whisper it quietly, but the new Premier League season is not that far away now and, before you know it, we’ll but wondering just exactly what it’s like to not have football about…

Indeed, it isn’t long until we delve into another season of club football and so, as is customary at this time of year, it’s time to wheel out some season preview material.

Here at Rush Football, then, we’re taking a look at each Premier League club’s best four stars for the coming campaign and next up we’re having a look at Everton.

See if you agree with our selections…

Jordan Pickford

This might seem a tad premature given that he’s yet to play a competitive game for the club but he really has the potential to be a star for Everton.

One of the few to shine for Sunderland last season, Pickford now has the platform to really excel and will want to put himself in the window for the World Cup at the end of the season.

Ross Barkley

Barkley is still an Everton player despite links with a move away and he will surely be pivotal in the club’s chances this season if he remains.

He’s not had it easy under Ronald Koeman but that did see him deliver his best season last year and so if he’s at the club come the end of the window, we should expect him to kick on.

The attacking midfielder will have the World Cup on his mind next summer and will surely be determined to win games by himself for the Blues.

Idrissa Gueye

Idrissa Gueye proved to be one of the signings of the summer last year as he quickly won himself a place in the first team.

A player whose type is in vogue at the moment – like that of N’Golo Kante – Gueye proved himself to be crucial in starting Everton attacks in winning the ball.

The former Aston Villa man can get forward and play though, too, and contributed a fair deal from deep in terms of goals and assists.

A top player.

Seamus Coleman

Coleman’s season was, of course, cut short by a horrible leg injury last year but he’ll be back in the side as soon as he’s fully fit and bombing down the right hand side.

Whilst the likes of Kyle Walker and Antonio Valencia will get plenty of plaudits, Coleman seems to always get a tad overlooked – even though few wingers really get the better of him.

For sure, he’s a real threat for Everton when he gets forward whilst his defensive game is superb too and that’s why he gets in this list.

Anyone we’ve missed? Let us know!
