The 5 most impressive sides in English football so far

We’re well in the thick of the action this season in English football now and we’re starting to see who might be at the top, and bottom, of their respective leagues come the end of the campaign.

Here at Rush Football, then, whilst we’re not throwing darts at one another, we like to reflect on what’s happened in the football season every now and again and so, with that in mind, here are the five sides who have impressed most in England so far this year…

Manchester City

City are battering teams at the moment both in England and Europe and are looking very strong.

Of course, they started last season well, too, before falling apart but they look much better this time around and they’re bound to be there or thereabouts in the Premier League title race this year.

Manchester United

United are also scoring for fun and look very powerful in the way they are going about their business.

Of course, they still have to play some of the bigger sides in the league but they can only beat what is in front of them and so far they’ve done a superb job of that.

Leeds United

The Whites were unbeaten in all competitions until last weekend and are playing some fine football.

They’ve got impressive strength in depth, too, as their win over Burnley in the League Cup highlighted last night.

Shrewsbury

The Shrews were not fancied by many in League 1 this season but they are five points clear and flying.

Whether they can keep it up remains to be seen but they certainly have to go down as one of the best sides of the season up until now.

Exeter City

Finally, in League 2, Exeter are also going along strongly with them being, along with Shrewsbury, the only sides of the 72 Football League clubs to still be unbeaten in the league.

They came close to promotion last season and are looking good to beat that this year.
