There may be no league action to look forward to this weekend but at least we’ve got some football to take in over the coming days.

It all begins tonight, of course, for England as the Three Lions take on Germany in Dortmund but there’s certainly plenty of other sides in action in both friendlies and World Cup Qualifiers.

There’s plenty at stake for many at this point, too, and so we should expect some decent games over the coming days as the spots for Russia 2018 begin to take shape.

Time, then, to take a look at three stars who could really showcase themselves this week…

Kylian Mbappe

We all seem to know about Mbappe thanks to his performances with Monaco this season but his call-up to France represents another step up. The attacker is yet to play for his national side but you can bet he’ll be confident of performing if he does get the nod. This could be the start of a superb international career.

Timo Werner

Werner is another player who is yet to play for his senior international side – Germany – but has impressed greatly this season. Playing for Red Bull Leipzig he has helped shock the Bundesliga with their counter attacking play and 14 goals in 25 games suggests he’s ready to take on that next step with his country.

Andre Silva

The young Portuguese striker really is a talent to behold. Lethal for Porto and with four goals in five games for his country so far, could he be the man to take over from Cristiano Ronaldo? Another good display for the European Champions this time out would surely suggest yes.
