The Premier League is back this weekend and are we sure glad to be able to say that!

After the international break that once again failed to really excite – not that England can really be blamed for that – we’re back to the cut and thrust of league football.

There’s certainly plenty to look out for, too, and so here is Rush Football’s 3 players to watch this weekend amongst all the action…

Philippe Coutinho

The Brazilian has been so quiet of late but the Merseyside Derby could be his perfect moment to step up once again. He’s not really performed since coming back from injury in January but with both Liverpool and Everton having injury issues, the biggest players that are fit will need to step up. Indeed, they don’t come much bigger than Coutinho in this most vociferous of atmospheres.

Alexis Sanchez

There’s been huge amounts of speculation over the Chilean and his future whilst Arsenal are also on the ropes right now. Things aren’t getting any easier, either, as they play Manchester City this weekend and so they’ll need their main man to step up. Will he commit to the cause as most expect him too? Or will he let things fall away from him again knowing he could probably get a move away in the summer?

Gylfi Sigurdsson

Whilst there’s big games at the top of the league, there’s also a huge one at the bottom between Swansea and Middlesbrough. The Swans have halted slightly whilst Boro are looking frail so whoever wins here will surely inject fresh impetus into their respective campaign. A draw does neither any favours and so it could be the Icelandic international Sigurdsson that makes the crucial difference.
