Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has said that people are respecting the way the Whites are playing this season and that it has perhaps taken some by surprise, as quoted by the club’s official website.

Leeds have started this Premier League season – their first back for 16 years – in fine form with them going toe-to-toe with some of the best in the league and offering them a real headache.

Wins against Sheffield United and Fulham have been built on with a draw against Manchester City whilst they also ran Liverpool incredibly close before the Reds got a late winner.

Certainly, many have been impressed with their attacking style that they have carried on from their time in the Championship and that commitment to stick to what they are good at despite the improved sides they are playing this season is paying dividends.

Bamford has reflected on the start, too, saying:

“I think almost everyone is surprised at how we are doing, but those who saw us last year will know what we are about.

“The fact we have brought the same energy, enthusiasm and style that we had in the Championship, I think people are respecting it.

“You see a lot of teams come up and sit back against the big teams hoping for a draw, but we go with the mentality of having nothing to lose and people are warming to Leeds.”

The striker has started this season on an individual basis in good form, too, and looks at home right now in the top flight.
