Everton take on Manchester United this weekend at Goodison Park as they look to pile on the pressure on Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and also get back to winning ways themselves.
The Toffees’ superb start to the Premier League season has been checked a little bit thanks to defeats against Southampton and Newcastle United but they are still in a good spot in the table, which is more than can be said for this weekend’s opponents.
The men from Old Trafford are seeing manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer come under immense pressure thanks to their loss in Turkey in the Champions League on Wednesday night and, that said, it appears as though Carlo Ancelotti feels his side can capitalise on potentially physically fatigued opponents.
He said via teamtalk:
“It can be an advantage.
“As I said before, the top teams have a really, really big schedule so it is really difficult for them. So we can take advantage of this on a physical aspect, above all.”
The Blues will certainly feel as though United are there to be beaten this weekend and, with them eager to return to winning ways themselves, Ancelotti will be getting his players ready to really go for them.
