Whisper it quietly, but the new Premier League season is not that far away now and, before you know it, we’ll but wondering just exactly what it’s like to not have football about…

Indeed, it isn’t long until we delve into another season of club football and so, as is customary at this time of year, it’s time to wheel out some season preview material.

Here at Rush Football, then, we’re taking a look at each Premier League club’s best four stars for the coming campaign and we’re starting with Arsenal.

See if you agree with our selections…

Alexis Sanchez

A pretty straight-forward one, this.

The Chilean attacker is easily the club’s best player at the moment and they’ve done well to keep a hold of him so far.

For sure, they’ll be eager to make sure he stays past the end of this window, too, as no-one in the squad comes to close to him for a raw combination of talent and tenacity.

Sanchez has the ability to play for any side in the world and if Arsenal are to keep him they’ll need to sign a few more of his ilk before the window comes to a close.

Mesut Ozil

We know, we know, he doesn’t turn up in big games and all that – but he’s still got plenty of class.

Ozil must be a real source of frustration for Arsenal fans as, as the saying goes, on his day he can be world class.

For sure, the German only seems to have those days against sides lower down the league but if he can just get things going in the big games he’ll be one of the divisions most potent stars.

There can be no doubt he’s got it in him, either, perhaps he just needs a few more around him on his wavelength?

Alexandre Lacazette

Alexandre Lacazette has finally signed for Arsenal and it’s going to be intriguing to see how he does in the Premier League.

The French forward had been linked with a move to the Gunners for some time and it has at last come to pass that they’ve got their man.

He’s already up and running in the scoring charts, too, thanks to a goal in a friendly and the club will be looking for that to continue.

Laurent Koscielny

When Koscielny was missing from the Gunners’ defence last season things quickly fell apart.

Indeed, the loss in Munich to Bayern in the Champions League particularly springs to mind and so keeping the Frenchman is key to the club’s chances.

He may not be the most physical defender in the world but his intelligence and reading of the game is superb.

He’ll be pivotal in any success the north Londoners have this season.

Who’s Arsenal’s best player ahead of 2017/18? Let us know!
