Aston Villa have suffered a bit of a stumble in recent weeks in the Premier League, losing to Leeds United and Southampton in their last two games.

The Villans shocked the footballing world with their heavy win over Liverpool earlier this season but since then it has gone a little bit flat and they now need to pick themselves up again and kick on.

Indeed, there was a bit of a fightback against the Saints in the second half at the weekend but it was all too late with them racing well clear and fans will want their players to step in the weeks to come.

One man they’ll look to is midfielder John McGinn and former defender Danny Mills has urged the Villans to get a contract sorted for the Scottish midfielder.

Quoted by Football Insider, he said:

“McGinn is a top-class player and if you do not reward players in this day and age and they get within two years of their contract they start thinking, ‘Maybe I am not wanted and I will walk away and leave.’

“He is undoubtedly a fantastic player and you have to tie down your assets so at least then if they are to be sold you can get good money for them.”

You can see his point, and Villa fans would surely like a new deal to be sorted for the former Hibs man.
