Here at Rush Football we love statistics. That’s why we’ve decided to bring you ten of the best stats from the Premier League so far this season.

  • Despite their high-flying league position, Burnley have the worst pass completion out of every Premier League team. The Clarets have completed 70.1% of their attempted passes, 2.8% less than Newcastle who have the second worst pass completion.
  • West Ham have the worst disciplinary record in the league. They have accumulated 51 yellow cards in total of which 17 have been collected by three players (Zabaleta -7, Reid – 5, Carroll – 5).
  • Liverpool have scored more goals on the counter-attack than any other side. They have scored seven goals on the break, two more than Tottenham in second and five more than runaway leaders Manchester City.
  • It comes as no surprise that the Premier League’s lowest scorers, Brighton, have spent less time in the opposition’s third of the pitch than any other team. The Seagulls have spent just 23% of games in their opposition’s third.
  • On average, Burnley are caught offside 3.3 times per game. Bournemouth on the other hand are caught offside an average of 0.7 times per game, the league’s lowest.
  • Bournemouth have scored more goals from set pieces (4) away from home than they have from open play (3).
  • Everton have been awarded more penalties this season (7) than any other team, of which five have been converted. Stoke, West Brom, Huddersfield, Bournemouth and Tottenham have been awarded just one apiece.
  • Harry Kane has scored 43% of all Tottenham’s Premier League goals this season. The in form striker has scored 18 of Tottenham’s 42 league goals.
  • League leaders Manchester City have an average of 66.4% of possession in games, 11.7% more than Chelsea and 13.6 more than fierce rivals Manchester United.
  • Despite conceding just 27 goals, Brighton have conceded the most goals from set pieces. The Sussex side have conceded 13 goals from set pieces whilst Manchester City have conceded just one.
