Cameron Jerome expects Carlton Morris to really show what he can do at Barnsley after helping the Tykes to a 3-1 win at Queens Park Rangers.

Barnsley are up there with Norwich as the current form side in the Championship with six wins in their last six league games.

Indeed, such a run has propelled them into play-off contention and it’s now all about them lasting the course and being in the top six come the end of the regular campaign.

On last night’s form, there’s every chance of them doing that, too, with Daryl Dike and Alex Mowatt getting goals before Morris put the icing on the cake.

And, speaking to EFL on Quest, the finish from Morris just moments after coming on highlights exactly what he can do:

“Barnsley epitomise modern football’s high intensity, high energy, and pressing.”

“Carlton Morris has got bags of potential, he’s got ability in abundance he’s just not managed to stay fit.

“He’s had a lot of loans in his career and struggled to find a home so hopefully he can find his feet at Barnsley.”

Rush Football’s take

Barnsley are running on rails at the moment and you have to give them credit for how they are performing.

Alex Mowatt was absolutely superb in midfield last night with two assists and a goal – a fine free-kick – whilst several other players stood out.

Indeed, Morris was one having been on the pitch only a matter of minutes as Valerien Ismael changed his front three completely at the same time in the second half.

Promising signs for the Tykes, and they’ll hope that that can continue.
