It’s been confirmed today that Chelsea have been granted permission by the Mayor of London to start the redevelopment on their Stamford Bridge home.
Top of the Premier League table, it’s been a good season so far for the club.
And, as they near the business end of the season – looking for a win tonight against West Ham – this news has come as a precursor to what they hope will be a new successful era in their history.
It’s the way the top clubs are going at the moment with each of the other top five sides either making recent developments to their existing grounds, moving into new ones or getting ready to in the near future.
The Blues, then, cannot afford to be left behind off of the pitch, just as much as they are hoping to retain their current advantage on it.
