Wilfried Zaha has a strong chance of returning to the Crystal Palace side this weekend as the Eagles take on Tottenham Hotspur.
The men from Selhurst Park drew with Manchester United 0-0 earlier in the week and will now be looking to build on that with another tough game against the Lilywhites.
Zaha could be back involved after a handful of matches out, though, with Hodgson and the medical staff a little surprised by how quickly he has returned.
Speaking to the press on Friday, and quoted by the Metro, the former England manager had this to say:
“He has come back quicker than perhaps the medical staff thought was possible.
“He trained well this week so no reason why I can’t consider him for a place in the team.”
Rush Football’s take
Palace are naturally stronger with Zaha in the side and so they’ll be pleased to see him returning to the squad as soon as this weekend.
The Eagles have not seen the winger feature for them since the game against Newcastle United at the start of last month and in that time since they’ve scored just two goals in five games – with both coming against Brighton in a 2-1 win.
Indeed, it’s obvious they need the Ivorian international’s spark and guile to help them start finding the net again and they’ll hope to do so against Spurs.
