Gary Cahill is unlikely to return to the Crystal Palace XI this weekend against Manchester City in the Premier League.
The Eagles earned a point away at Arsenal on Thursday night and are back in action on Sunday evening as they travel north to the Etihad Stadium.
According to a report from the London Evening Standard, the Eagles are unlikely to change their team from the game at the Emirates, too, with Gary Cahill set to remain on the bench having now recovered from injury.
Rush Football’s take
Palace will fancy themselves against Manchester City.
The Eagles have done well at the Etihad in the last couple of seasons and will be aiming to build on that and their draw with Arsenal, which could have turned into a win had certain chances been taken advantage of.
It appears likely that Palace will name an unchanged side for this one, then, with the likes of Jeff Schulpp and Mamadou Sakho still out injured.
The Eagles kept a clean sheet, their second in two league games, against the Gunners and the partnership of Cheikou Kouyate and James Tomkins was at the heart of that both times.
It would make sense, then, despite Gary Cahill’s return to the squad, to keep things as they are and try and put in another strong defensive display against Man City.
