Everton will be able to call on Jordan Pickford in the coming weeks in the Premier League with Sky Sports confirming that the goalkeeper will not face retrospective action after his clash with Virgil Van Dijk at the weekend.

The Dutch defender hobbled off with injury straight after the clash and it has been confirmed since that he requires surgery on his ACL with him set to be out for a number of months with that in mind.

Pickford’s challenge was not a nice one, then, and many have suggested it could have been a red card but he will not face suspension and so is available for the Toffees’ coming games before the international break.

Trips to Southampton and then Newcastle United await the table-topping Blues before they face Manchester United at Goodison Park ahead of the next international break in mid-November.

A good time, then, to try and keep their momentum going.
