Morgan Schneiderlin has had surgery on his knee this week and now faces the possibility of remaining on the sidelines for the rest of the season for Everton.
The Blues narrowly lost to Arsenal last weekend 3-2 in a topsy-turvy game and it was there for the taking had the Toffees been a bit more clinical at crucial moments.
Schneiderlin featured in that one, too, but picked up a knee injury and has had to go under the knife this week, as per the Liverpool Echo.
And, according to the report, it could leave him sidelined for a number of weeks to the extent where it is unclear as to whether his season is over.
Certainly, it’s not exactly something that will be rushed and the only positive for the Blues is that Andre Gomes returned to action last weekend after his own injury lay-off.
The Toffees take on Manchester United this weekend.
