Kevin Phillips has issued praise for Gjanni Alioski and his versatility and professionalism at Leeds United as the Whites line up a new contract for him this season.

The Macedonian has been a real pro for Leeds since joining and his ability to play in several positions well with maximum commitment and effort make him a firm favourite amongst fans and players alike.

Indeed, he seems a good character from some of the antics we have seen from him on social media and Leeds are reportedly eager to get a new contract sorted for him according to Football Insider, with his current deal up at the end of the season.

That could mean he is free to have pre-contract discussions with other clubs in the January window but, for Phillips, it would evidently make sense to keep him around.

Telling the same outlet, he said:

“From what I gather his attitude is good and every club needs a player like that.

“He is a player who can unlock the door and he has a brilliant work rate.

“When he comes off the bench he can change the game and if you start with him he might be able to produce a bit of magic. Either way he does not moan and every squad needs a player like that.

“He is a player that they would like to keep. Leeds will want to get him on a new contract.”

Alioski is well-liked at Leeds, and it would be no shock to see him ink a new deal.
