Chelsea have officially signed Tiemoué Bakayoko, a 22 year old French defensive midfielder, from AS Monaco.


Career

Rennes (2012-2014)

Tiemoué began his senior career at Rennes B in 2012, however, in 2013 he transitioned to the main team and made his full debut against Évian TG.

AS Monaco (2014-2017)

In 2014, Bakayoko was signed by Monaco and made his debut against Lorient. Since then he had played in the Champions League and even bagged himself a goal in the second leg of the Round of 16 against Man City. His performances in this competition earned him a spot in the Champions League Team of the Season 2016-17. Additionally, the defensive midfielder won Ligue 1 with Monaco last season.

France

In March 2017, Bakayoko got his international call up and made his debut against Spain, playing the second half and losing 2-0.
