Both Allan Saint-Maximin and Jamaal Lascelles have been suffering with the virus and have not fallen out with Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce, it has been confirmed.
The Magpies are back playing after having to postpone things earlier this month thanks to an outbreak of the virus at the club.
Most appear to have recovered but some are taking a little longer to get back and, among them, Saint-Maximin and Lascelles.
Indeed, Lee Ryder confirmed as such on Twitter:
Confirmed: Allan Saint-Maximin and Jamaal Lascelles have suffered from Covid and are happy for that to be out there. say club sources. Players now in recovery. #nufc

Rush Football’s take
Rumours were beginning to spread that Bruce had fallen out with the two players given there had been no update on the pair in recent times and, given the two are key stars in the Newcastle set-up, that would have been far from ideal news.
It appears, though, that such talk was wide of the mark and came about simply from a lack of communication from Bruce and the club.
It’s out in the open now, though, and the pair will hopefully make a swift recovery and get back into the Newcastle fold as they look to earn a good result against Brentford in the EFL Cup.
