Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has suggested that Thiago’s inclusion in the Reds’ side may not benefit them, in very bold comments on Twitter.
The Spanish midfielder enjoyed an impressive Anfield debut on Sunday as he looked the best Liverpool player on the pitch in what was a fairly drab 0-0 game with Manchester United.
Indeed, he should only get better as he finally begins to build some rhythm but Didi Hamann isn’t so sure, having this to say on Twitter:
Liverpool had a lot of possession for quite some time now and always found a way to break up defences. The dynamics of the team will change with Thiago in the team. I don’t think for the better https://t.co/aVNCGZP0ef

Rush Football’s take
Hamann is obviously entitled to his opinion having played for the likes of Liverpool and Germany in midfield but it is also fair to say many will disagree.
Thiago, particularly for the first 20 minutes of the game, was the best footballer on the pitch as he snapped passes around the corner and regularly rolled his marker.
There’ll naturally be an adaptation period given he’s not played much football this season for the Reds and as things build, we should see an evolved Liverpool.
There’s a theory the Reds now need to change slightly with so many defending deep against them, Thiago may help them do that.
