Whisper it quietly, but the new Premier League season is not that far away now and, before you know it, we’ll but wondering just exactly what it’s like to not have football about…

Indeed, it isn’t long until we delve into another season of club football and so, as is customary at this time of year, it’s time to wheel out some season preview material.

Here at Rush Football, then, we’re taking a look at each Premier League club’s best four stars for the coming campaign and next up it’s Leicester City.

See if you agree with our selections…

Wilfred Ndidi

ndidi

Ndidi was one of the many midfielders Leicester signed as a way of compensating for N’Golo Kante leaving and he has done the best job of doing that.

The young Nigerian really is a dynamo in midfield with his lung-busting runs and he can both attack and defend with a fierce shot on him.

He’s only young, too, and we think he could be set for a big season at the heart of the Foxes’ midfield.

Jamie Vardy

vardy

Vardy really did have a quiet season last year after the exploits of 2015/16 but, to be fair, so did most of the team.

There was a return to form once Craig Shakespeare was appointed – which many were suspicious of – and now we should expect Vardy to be back at it this season coming.

The pace and finishing is still there, now it’s just a case of whether the club gets playing to his style for the campaign.

Riyad Mahrez

mahrez

We thought long and hard about this one and eventually decided that the Algerian had to be considered in this list.

Last season, of course, was not good on his part but he does still possess immense quality on the ball and he’ll be key in the Foxes’ challenge this year.

Of course, he could leave by the end of the summer but if he doesn’t he should play a pivotal role in things.

Kasper Schmeichel

Leicester City v Swansea City - Premier League

The Danish stopper is about the only player who can honestly say he performed to his maximum last season with some of his displays being top drawer.

Indeed, he was immense in the Champions League and saved games by himself so he’ll have to make this list.

We expect him to be at the same level this season, too, and so all he’ll be hoping is that the defence in front of him goes back to the form of 2015/16.

Anyone we’ve missed? Let us know!
