Celtic manager Neil Lennon has offered an update into the club’s plans for Ryan Christie with him having to go into isolation during the international break.

He has missed games for Scotland after being forced into isolation having come into ‘close contact’ with former Hoops player Stuart Armstrong and both he and Kieran Tierney had to sit out as Scotland qualified for the play-off with Serbia next month for EURO 2020 (held in 2021.)

We’re getting towards the end of the internationals now, though, and the club game will come back into focus in the next few days, with the Bhoys taking on Rangers this weekend in the Scottish Premiership.

Christie will be missing, of course, and Neil Lennon has offered insight into how they’ll be trying to keep him fit during this period.

He said, via the Celtic View:

“I’ve spoken to all of the boys and they are all in good spirits. Ryan is obviously self-isolating, but we had a treadmill sent up to him and he’s been doing workouts in the house. Ultimately, we want the guys to rest, get well and we’ll welcome them back into the fold with open arms when they’re ready in a couple of weeks.”

It’s an issue we’re bound to see rear its head more in the coming weeks and managers are, unfortunately, just going to have to deal with it the best they can.
