Liverpool suffered a blow in terms of the title race yesterday afternoon as Everton managed to get a draw in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

You could tell how much it meant to the Evertonians that they’d put a dent in the Reds’ title challenge, too, with the roar that went up at the final whistle – confirming the 0-0 draw.

Certainly, it was a frustrating afternoon for the away side who now sit in second in Manchester City’s shadow and some are beginning to think they are not going to win the title.

That said, Reds hero John Aldrige appears to be of the same opinion with him writing in his regular Irish Independent column as such.

He said:

“Liverpool did not do enough to beat Everton at Goodison Park yesterday and if I’m being honest, they don’t look like they are good enough to win the Premier League title either.”

Of course, there is still plenty of time to go and Manchester City also face some big games in the coming weeks but you can see why there might be growing doubts.

We have a title race, though, and that is more than can be said for the last couple of campaigns.
