Speaking to Portuguese outlet O Jogo, Liverpool coach Pep Lijnders has said that Ruben Neves is the sort of player that always is of interest to Liverpool.

The Portuguese midfielder has had an excellent campaign and has been brilliant in the middle of the park for Wolves.

Indeed, he scored against the Reds earlier this season in the FA Cup and many feel as though he could get to the very top.

Lijnders, who worked with Neves at Porto earlier in the decade, had this to say about him:

“I know him very well, his ambition, his passion for the game, his professionalism…I know what he gives to the team and this type of players always interest us.”

This, of course, doesn’t mean a move to the Reds is guaranteed but it does surely mean that they are well aware of his quality.

Would Wolves let him go? They’d surely hold out for a ton of money before even entertaining the idea, and it remains to be seen exactly whether or not Liverpool could offer a tempting enough deal.
