What a night it was at Anfield yesterday evening as Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-0 in an eye-catching and enthralling display.
Certainly, the first half in particular was something special if you’re a fan of the Reds as three clinical goals effectively put the game to bed.
City, in truth, were blunt from the get-go and, whilst many will say other factors such as Liverpool’s ruthlessness or the atmosphere at the ground played their part, others will suggest the bombardment the City bus endured before hand might have impacted the players.
That will never be proven but, regardless, Liverpool have moved to apologise to City and will be investigating the incident with a view to potentially bringing in charges against those found guilty of any offence.
It was a sour note to an otherwise superb night for the Anfield club, and it remains to be seen what happens at the Etihad next week.
