According to the Independent, Liverpool do not have plans to try and sign Nabil Fekir this summer after all.
The Reds came very close to signing the French international last season from Lyon but it flopped at the final hour with doubts over an injury.
Since, he has had another good season with Lyon and the natural conclusion for many would be that the now European Champions would for him again.
However, this report has doubted such talk and it could well be the case that the Reds want different targets or do not feel as though they need to strengthen in that area now.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is back fit and provides a similar set of attributes in breaking the lines whilst Naby Keita showed towards the end of the season he was starting to click – though injury ended his campaign.
Fekir might not be in a red shirt for next season either, then, based on this.
