Quoted by talkSPORT, Charlton manager Lee Bowyer has talked up on-loan Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher after what has been a top start for the player.
Charlton lost Joe Aribo in the summer window to Rangers and many felt as though they needed an attacking midfielder to come in and replace him.
Gallagher was the man given that unenviable task but he has taken it in his stride to put in a great number of performances despite still only being 19.
With Charlton in the top ten in the Championship, he’ll be hoping to help keep his temporary side in the hunt for the play-offs, and Lee Bowyer is clearly impressed with what he has seen.
“He’s a good player.
“For us it was a bit of a gamble; he had never been on loan anywhere before and is only 19 so he’s still learning the game.”
He will make mistakes but he always puts a shift in when in the red of the Addicks and that has meant that he is already loved by the fans at The Valley.
Chelsea fans, too, will be looking forward to a bright future under him.
