According to Sky Sports, Manchester City have emerged as favourites to sign Juventus full-back Dani Alves for a reported fee of £5m.
Current City boss Pep Guardiola is eager for the 34-year-old to join him at the Etihad following the departures of both Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna.
Alves was one of Guardiola’s first signings for Barcelona when he took over in 2008 and the pair went on to win 3 La Liga titles, 2 Copa del Reys, 3 Champions League trophies along with a host of others.
Surprisingly, then, Juventus are happy to offload the Brazilian despite a superb season which saw him feature in 12 Champions League games as they reached the final for the second time in 3 years. They also won the Serie A title by 4 points as well the Coppa Italia in what was only his first, and possibly only season at the club.
A good signing by City? Let us know!
