Tahith Chong has joined Werder Bremen on loan from Manchester United for next season’s Bundesliga and is planning on using Kevin de Bruyne and Serge Gnabry as models to follow as he looks to have a big career.
Both de Bruyne and Gnabry are huge stars on the European stage and both really forged their reputations in Germany after initially starting out in England.
Indeed, Chong is obviously under contract at Manchester United but is perhaps not going to get into their first team any time soon and so playing time is needed elsewhere.
Playing for Bremen, he should get plenty of good experience at a top level and it sounds as though he is all too aware of the opportunity that he is getting presented with:
“It’s definitely in the back of your head when you come here. The club’s history and reputation for helping players like Gnabry and De Bruyne advance their careers is always good to hear, so I’m sure this the right place to continue my development.”
United fans are excited about Chong’s development and will be keen to see him perform well in Germany.
We’ve seen lots of youngsters move there from England and succeed so he’ll be planning to be the latest.
