Lionel Messi has put any questions about his future to bed with him signing a new deal with Barcelona to keep him there until 2020/21.

The Catalan club have started this season on fire with them looking to bounce back from what was a poor campaign last year by their very high standards.

Indeed, last season’s form began to cause questions over whether Messi would now decide to move on with his old contract expiring at the end of the campaign.

Fans of the Blaugrana won’t have to worry about that now, though, and – according to Sky Sports – the Argentine has a release clause of £626 million.

Not even PSG could surely fork out that kind of money – even in this modern market – and so it would seem that the brilliant attacker is going to remain at the Nou Camp for some time to come.
