James McFadden says it is time Alfredo Morelos paid Rangers back for what they have done for his career as quoted by Sky Sports, via the Daily Record.

Reports surfaced before the weekend game with Kilmarnock that the Colombian striker had effectively downed tools after he learned that he was not in the squad for the Gers.

Indeed, we saw Kemar Roofe playing up top and he scored during the win over Killie, boosting hopes he could well take the baton from Morelos.

Speculation is rife over Morelos’ future with Lille linked but not yet willing to pay the fee that the Gers want for him.

McFadden feels, though, that the way he is going about his business right now is completely unfair on the Gers.

He said:

“Every time there has been talk of an offer or interest he seems to get a new contract. I don’t think that will happen this time because he will be on very good money as it is.

“And it’s time to pay Rangers back whether it is two or three weeks or whatever. However long it takes.”

Rangers are well within their rights to hold out for good money before letting the Colombian go and if he does stay past this summer he’s got some work on to get himself back in the side and fit.
