Liverpool have confirmed a deal to sign RB Leipzig’s Naby Keïta, a 22 year old Guinean box-to-box midfielder.
Horoya AC (2004-2013)
Naby spent his youth career at his hometown club Horoya, before transitioning to their senior team in 2012.
FC Istres (2013-14)
After failed trials at the likes of Lorient and Le Mans, Keïta joined Istres in 2013. In his only season in Ligue 2, he found the back of the net eleven times in 23 matches.
Red Bull Salzburg (2014-16)
He signed for the Austrian club in 2014, and by the end of the season had notched up five goals and two assists. Salzburg won the Austrian Bundesliga and the Austrian Cup in both seasons that Naby was at the club, and the midfielder earned the honour of the Austrian Bundesliga Player of the Year in 2015-16.
RB Leipzig (2016-)
Keïta is currently playing for Salzburg’s sister club who now play in the German Bundesliga. After scoring on his debut, he has bagged himself another five goals in the 2016-17 season.
Naby got his international call up in 2013, playing his debut against Mali and has gone on to represent his country 25 times.
He is set to join Liverpool in July 2018. Is he a good signing? Let us know!
