Neil Lennon is hopeful that Celtic are going to start kicking on now after making another domestic final at the expense of Aberdeen at the weekend.

The Bhoys put in a decent performance against the men from Pittodrie at the weekend because it was probably fair to say that Derek McInnes’ men would have fancied getting a result.

Indeed, it’s not been easy for Celtic so far this season but Lennon is hopeful that signs of improvement are there for all to see now and he is hoping that things are going to kick on now as they look to close the gap down to Rangers in the league.

Quoted by Four Four Two, the former Celtic midfielder had this to say looking back at the weekend:

“I thought we were very comfortable and were outstanding in the first half.

“As expected, the players tired in the second half and we had to change the shape and change the personnel but we saw the game out comfortably and it’s another cup final.

“I’m sure there was a lot of expectation and pressure on them but they didn’t show any of it and handled the occasion very well.

“We’ve had a heavy volume of games and they’ve come through it on the other side now.

“I’m not saying everything is going to be plain sailing from here on in but we’re starting to show real form again.”

The Hoops have got plenty of quality in their side, it’s all about getting belief and confidence back in them – certainly, the weekend should help that along.
