Chelsea remain looking for a replacement for Maurizio Sarri with him off to Juventus but it could be as early as next week that they have their man sorted.
According to the Daily Mail, Roman Abramovich has told Frank Lampard that he will be given at least two years in charge of the club from next season, and it is expected the former player will head back to the Bridge.
Indeed, the report suggests that the move will happen in the coming days with Lampard then tasked with getting the Blues ready for what they hope will be a title challenge next season.
They won the Europa League last season and are in the Champions League for this one but they still have a lot of work to do to catch Manchester City and Liverpool in the top flight.
However, Lampard has never been shy of hard work and if he does end up back at the club where he made his name, he’ll be ready to take things on head first.
