It’s been over a month since Newcastle United last won a Premier League game and Magpies fans will be hoping that can change before too long.
The men from Tyneside are in a decent position in the league in terms of staying away from the relegation zone but poor form can soon drag you down at a time of the season where momentum is key.
They need to build some as we close in on the final games of the campaign, then, with a home match against an in-form Burnley up next this weekend.
In a boost for the Magpies, though, Jonjo Shelvey is back in training and is in line for a return to the side – as per the club’s official website.
It’s fair to suggest that Shelvey is one of the club’s best players and with him in the side the midfield has a bit more craft and guile to it than without him.
Newcastle won’t want to risk rushing him, but if fit he surely will feature given his quality.
