Allan Saint-Maximin has had to withdraw from this evening’s Newcastle United squad as the Magpies travel south to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
The Magpies have lost their last two matches in the league and need to bounce back against an Eagles side that will be missing Wilfried Zaha.
Newcastle, though, are going to be without their own talismanic forward this evening now with him falling foul of a hamstring injury, as per Chronicle Live.
Rush Football’s take
For the neutral, the news that both Zaha and Saint-Maximin are going to be missing this evening is not good, whilst the latter for the Magpies is obviously a considerable blow.
He’s the sort of player that can win games like this with his talent on the ball and the Magpies now need to fill the creative void.
As someone who has made the joint-most average dribbles a match so far this season, the winger is a superb carrier of the ball and so losing that ability to get up the pitch will need to be addressed by Steve Bruce.
