Nottingham Forest will want to put together a play-off challenge next season under Martin O’Neill after falling short in the Championship last campaign.
Towards the end of the year, there were signs that the Reds were getting things together under their club legend but that was too late thanks to the points gap to the top six.
With the right signings, though, they’ll be aiming to get into those play-off paying places next year and it looks as though Harrison Reed could be of interest to the Reds.
According to the Nottingham Post, the Southampton man is seen as an alternative option to Jack Colback if they cannot bring the Newcastle man back to the City Ground.
Reed was on loan from the Saints to Blackburn last year and did well as Rovers comfortably earned safety in their first campaign back in the Championship.
Colback, meanwhile, was a star for Forest last year and so, if Reed ends up arriving, he’ll have some big shoes to fill.
