Newcastle United fans will want to see a clear plan for the future under Rafa Benitez but that, of course, is part pending on Mike Ashley’s movements.
A club with the potential to get into the top half of the table and challenge for Europe, the squad is being starved of investment and Benitez will want that to change soon.
The Magpies do, however, have some good young players that they’ll be hoping can add to the squad in the coming months and years and Sean Longstaff fits in that category.
A player who has gone out on loan in the EFL, he is building experience and former Magpies captain Steven Taylor is tipping him for the big-time.
He said via Tribal Football:
“He’s training and playing with quality players, he’s getting some great experience and he shows his class. Hopefully, he keeps it up and he’ll break into the squad soon.”
For sure, Longstaff still has a bit to do to get into the side but he is one of the brighter prospects on Tyneside and, if he can break through, the Geordies might have a new local hero to shout about.
