Joe Gomez is set to miss a significant portion of the season with a knee injury, having already undergone surgery and begun his recovery.
The defender went down under no challenge during England training earlier this week and has had to have a procedure done on a tendon on his knee, though he does have the chance to make a return later this season.
For Liverpool, though, their defensive options have only been hit further and the state of play at the Anfield club is currently not a good one.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is out for a handful of weeks having been injured against Manchester City, whilst Virgil van Dijk is obviously out for the season and both Fabinho and Joel Matip have been hampered by knocks this year too.
Predicting the Reds’ defence for their clash with Leicester is a bit of a task, then, but Fabinho is expected to be in contention for the game.
We could, then, see Andy Robertson at left-back, Fabinho and Joel Matip in the middle and one of James Milner or Neco Williams down the right of defence, depending on whether Jurgen Klopp thinks the latter is ready for a run in the side.
