Arsenal will be looking to finish this season strongly with a Europa League run and a top-four place up for grabs in the final months of the campaign.
The Gunners have gone about their business rather quietly in the Premier League in recent weeks and have closed the gap to Spurs, though Manchester United and Chelsea are in close attendance.
A return to the Champions League is possible for next season, though, but they’ll also know that if they win the Europa League they will qualify for the tournament too.
Either way, they’ll be looking for their best players to step up and perform and Mesut Ozil is certainly one man who needs to roll his sleeves up.
A footballer with massive talent, he has been in and out of the squad this season under Unai Emery, leaving many questioning his mentality.
And, for Lee Dixon, that mental edge has gone soft thanks to the money he is on.
As quoted by the Sun, Dixon said:
“The character of the player has to be taken into consideration. When you give somebody that amount of money it probably wouldn’t affect some players. But it looks as if it has softened him.”
And, to be fair, he’s rather nailed the situation really.
