Jamie O’Hara has made the bold claim that Fulham would win the Scottish Premiership and that both Rangers and Celtic would struggle to survive in the Premier League.

The two Glasgow giants have dominated Scottish football for years and there’s been a regular debate as to how they’d get on if they joined the top English tier.

That said, O’Hara has chimed in with these comments, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times, after speaking to talkSPORT:

“Yeah, I think he (Gerrard) has done a brilliant job. He’s done a fantastic job, I’ve watched him obviously this season because that statement I came out with highlighted it.

“He went to Celtic and he was unbelievable. I look at that and I look at the standards…”

Rush Football’s take

There are several reasons why O’Hara is wrong.

For starters, on the Dembele point, the forward was a young player at Fulham, he naturally improved as a footballer and did so very well at Celtic.

Secondly, both Rangers and Celtic, if they did enter the Premier League, would then have the riches and league to attract top-class players. With their stadiums, fan-bases and global reputation, they’d quickly become two of the top clubs in the division, make no mistake.

Celtic, of course, are struggling this season but have a good squad that is underperforming and Rangers are having a campaign to remember. Fulham are a good side, too, but to simply suggest they’d roll up and win the Scottish Premiership against the two Glasgow sides isn’t fair – particularly with the form Rangers have shown this year.

In other news, Dermot Gallagher felt Shane Duffy could have received red in the Old Firm.
