Chris Sutton has labelled Jurgen Klopp ‘Mr Moaner’ with Liverpool looking to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.

The Reds are going through a bit of a lean patch at the moment with them drawing to West Brom and Newcastle United and then losing on Monday to Southampton.

Indeed, it means Manchester United are level on points with a game in hand whilst the likes of Leicester City and Manchester City are close behind as well.

Certainly, we’ve seen manager Jurgen Klopp take issue with a few things this season as the Reds have battled on and Chris Sutton has noticed his change in demeanor.

Writing in the Daily Mail, he said:

“This season Jurgen Klopp hasn’t come across as that cool character who isn’t fazed by whatever is thrown at him. Instead, he’s become more of a complainer.

“From 12.30pm kick-offs, to three-versus-five substitutes, to how many penalties Manchester United are awarded compared to Liverpool — he’s targeted it all.

“Aggravation is there whenever he speaks. He’s gone from Mr Motivator to Mr Moaner. And yet, they remain top of the Premier League.”

Rush Football’s take

Whether it’s an attempt from Klopp to generate a siege mentality at the Reds is up for debate but it certainly needs to start yielding better results if they are to retain the title.

A lack of fit senior centre-half is really starting to cost them with poor goals conceded against West Brom and Southampton whilst the front three need to buck-up their ideas having fired blanks in the last two matches.

Dips happen in a season, of course, and the Reds need to show their true qualities now and respond.
