Roy Hodgson has offered an update on Gary Cahill and it sounds as though the defender could be missing for a handful of games at the very least.
Crystal Palace take on Fulham this weekend in the Premier League and Hodgson goes back to one of the sides he managed, and successfully so, back at the start of the last decade.
Indeed, he’ll be looking forward to seeing his old stomping ground in Craven Cottage but once the first whistle goes he’ll be fully focused on getting the three points back to south London.
Gary Cahill is unlikely to be involved by the sounds of it, though, with Hodgson confirming that he has got an injury that is still being assessed.
He said via Football London:
“A nasty injury, we’re still assessing it. He won’t be able to play tomorrow unless something miraculous happens overnight.
“Hope it won’t keep him out for weeks on end, but it’s too soon.”
An injury blow for the Eagles to contend with, then, and Cahill is bound to be a miss given the quality he does still bring to their defence.
Fulham, then, will be looking to exploit that.
