The weekend is here once again and that can only mean one thing that really matters – the Premier League is upon us!

After a full mid-week fixture list saw the races at the top and the bottom of the league tighten and take further twists, this next set of games really does have a lot going for it.

Indeed, the top four race is open with Man City and Liverpool dropping points whilst the relegation battle is getting ever fiercer with the likes of West Ham sinking into the mire.

Plenty to look out for, then, so, with that in mind, here are the four players you need to watch this weekend…

Tom Heaton

Heaton is going to The Riverside with Burnley this weekend as they face Middlesbrough. He’s been superb this season with a number of fine saves to his name and, as the Clarets look for their first win away of the campaign, will expect to keep a clean-sheet against the worst attack in the league. This has 0-0 written all over it.

Vincent Kompany

Belgian international Kompany has finally got himself fit (who knows how long for,) and is back in the City set-up. He was playing like a man possessed against Chelsea and could have scored with an arched header so will surely be determined to keep Hull quiet at the Etihad this weekend.

Mesut Ozil

It looks as though missing Mesut has been found just in time for Arsenal’s top four challenge with him being superb against West Ham. He may disappear against the biggest sides at times but against the teams lower down, he is an absolute force to be reckoned with. He’ll be looking to do the same, then, against Crystal Palace.

Divock Origi

All Liverpool fans will have torn their hair out when Sadio Mane twisted his knee more than a Stretch Armstrong doll against Everton. He does, however, seem to have a capable replacement in Divock Origi who is actually Liverpool’s second top scorer this season. He’s a gamble for the Reds, but could be one that really pays off as they play mid-table Stoke.
