Route to Russia:

Iceland topped their group that also had Croatia and Ukraine in so they certainly haven’t forgotten how to impress after EURO 2016.

They’ll be looking to impress further at the tournament in Russia this summer.

How far can they get:

Who knows?!

Iceland surprised everyone with their run in the European Championships back in 2016 and you’d never be shocked if they did similar this time around.

A tough group with the likes of Argentina awaits but they’ll fancy ruffling more established feathers this summer.

Manager:

Heimir Hallgrímsson is the man masterminding this greatest period in the Nordic nation’s footballing history.

A qualified dentist, he’s a man of many talents and it surely won’t take much motivation to get a performance out of his side in Russia this summer.

One to Watch:

Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Icelandic midfielder joined Everton last summer and struggled to find the form that made him such a hit at Swansea.

Even so, he’s a massive talent and one opposing sides will have to take seriously to avoid Iceland taking more scalps this summer.
