Burnley manager has Sean Dyche has signed a new contract keeping him at Turf Moor until the end of the 2021-22 season.

During his time in charge of the club he has earnt them two promotions from the Championship to the Premier League.

He has improved the side immensely since taking charge in 2012. The Clarets are currently in seventh in the league and are a very tough side to beat – as many have the big sides have learnt the hard way.

Since beating Chelsea on the first day of the season, Dyche’s side have grabbed points against Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United.

In a world where teams sack managers, Burnley have kept faith in their manager even through tough spells. Their unique style of play has caught many off guard this season and it will continue to as they start pushing further up the table.

The big clubs have been keeping an eye on The Clarets’ progress and especially Dyche’s. The 46-year-old has been on the top of many manager-less club’s lists.

What he has done with the club is simply remarkable in the modern age of football. Since being promoted he has spent on £29 million on players and continuing to do well with the third lowest wage bill in the whole of the top flight.

His new contact will ward a lot of teams away from Dyche but if he continues to keep Burnley in the top half of table he will not have a reason to go elsewhere.

He will have some big decisions to make in the coming weeks with England goalkeeper Tom Heaton returning from injury. Burnley’s number two Nick Pope has been doing remarkably well in his absence. Who will he have in between the sticks by the end of the season?

Dyche added Aaron Lennon to his squad during the January transfer window, a great addition to further their attacking options for the remainder of the season.

Wherever Burnley end up at the end of the season, Dyche has done a remarkable job with a select group of players. The big clubs should be weary when they go to Turf Moor next season.
