Things are looking rather tough for Southampton at the moment and that is something Mark Hughes will be eager to address.

The Saints want to be looking up instead of other their shoulder but after their loss to Fulham it seems as though they still have some work to do.

And, indeed, it would appear that they have mental issues to sort as well as those on the pitch if Cedric Soares is to be believed.

The Portuguese right-back has been at the club for a good while now and it looks as though he thinks the squad need to be more resilient.

As quoted by the Daily Echo, the flying full-back admitted:

“I was feeling that it would go to 1-1 because we were very exposed at one moment and then when it happened our heads went immediately.

“We need to be more experienced in this kind of moments. We can play very good, but we just need to be smarter in managing the game.”

Clearly, these are not words Saints fans will particularly relish reading and it is clear the team has work to do.

With the likes of Huddersfield and, indeed, Fulham showing stomach for the fight, then, the Saints need to sort things as soon as.
