Tottenham travel to Liverpool this weekend as they look to get themselves back on track in the Premier League after a few difficult patches in recent weeks in the league.

Spurs, for many in recent years, have been the side to potentially challenge the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City in the title race.

Indeed, they are a top side on their day but it appears as though form has tailed off in recent weeks, and some have begun to wonder whether Mauricio Pochettino is going to be staying at the club much longer.

However, for former manager Harry Redknapp, the Argentine will not be going anywhere anytime soon, with him labelling talk of the current boss leaving the club as ‘rubbish.’

As quoted by Sky Sports, the former Portsmouth and West Ham manager had this to say about the current situation at Tottenham and talk of a potential managerial exit:

“Absolute rubbish.

“I think Graham Taylor was the cleverest manager.

“He said ‘your manager is never as good as you think he is – and he’s never as bad as you think he is. It is somewhere in between’.

“We all get carried away. He (Pochettino) is an excellent manager, he has fantastic players, they have a beautiful stadium. They are just having a tricky spell.”

Certainly, Spurs have had a tricky spell but after a midweek win in the Champions League, they will feel confident that they can get a result at Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

Do that, and Pochettino will surely see the growing critics turn their attention elsewhere.
